The Faculty of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering was established in October, 1997, based on the former Department of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering and Research Center of New Material Engineering. The faculty contains 4 departments and 2 research centers, namely Department of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering, Department of Electronics and Information Engineering, Department of Material Science and Engineering, Department of Automation, Automation Research Center and Research Center of Petroleum Equipment. At present, about 50 Ph.D. students, 150 master students and 650 undergraduate students are studying in different majors in the faculty.
